Walong miyembro ng Communist Party of the Philippines – New People’s Army (CCP-NPA) mula sa Eastern Mindanao ang sumuko sa gobyerno at inilantad sa media, sa 60th Infantry Battalion (IB) Headquarters ng Philippine Army.

Ayon kay 60th IB commander Lt. Col. Ronaldo Sarmiento, dating target nito ang mga lugar sa Agusan del Sur, Davao del Norte, at Davao de Oro.
Isinuko rin ng mga rebelde ang 11 iba’t ibang firearms at ammunition, at iba pa. Lahat sa walong rebelde ay nai-endorso na sa local government units para sa assistance. Isasama rin ang mga ito sa Enhanced-Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP). Sa ilalim ng E-CLIP, ituturo rito ang flagship program ng gobyerno sa reintegration ng dating mga miyembro ng CCP-NPA, National Democratic Front (NDF) upang mabigyan sila ng assistance at benefits bago bumalik sa lipunan bilang mga sibilyan.
Ang Eastern Mindanao Command (Eastmincom) ay walang sawa sa pagpapatupad ng Development Support and Security Plan “Kapayapaan” ng Armed Forces of the Philippines, kasabay ang Executive Order No. 70 ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, na nagpatibay sa Whole-of-Nation Approach to End the Local Communist Armed Conflict.
Sinalubong ni Eastmincom chief Lt. Gen. Jose Faustino Jr., ang pagsuko ng mga nasabing NPA members, na ito ay tagumpay sa anti-surgency campaign ng gobyerno.
